About colin

Colin Koth (pronounced like “both”) is an American actor, writer, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. In February of 2020, he booked a role in the Netflix show The Upshaws, starring Kim Fields, Mike Epps, and Wanda Sykes. Little did he know—or anyone—the world would soon shut down. After a year in lockdown, Colin picked right back up where he left off, filming 5 feature films and 2 short films in the span of 14 months, working with actors like Eric Roberts, Tara Reid, Brian Krause, Tom Sizemore, Vernon Wells, Todd Bridges, and Louis Mandylor.

Colin grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he excelled in sports and dreamt of playing in the MLB and NBA. At an early age, he also discovered he had a knack for entertaining others. Whether it was using his parents’ camcorder to recreate The Pink Panther films, writing his own short stories, or putting on “concerts” for his family—whatever it was, he loved to entertain.

Colin’s athleticism translated most successfully to track and field in college. He became a two-time All-American, a National Champion in the 400 meter dash, and even contemplated a professional running career after finishing school. But it was during these years that he rediscovered his love for acting, writing, and filmmaking. He quickly found success in the theater program where he performed in nine shows, ranging from West Side Story, Time Stands Still, Guys and Dolls, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona—and twice, he was awarded the Irene Ryan nomination to attend the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

After graduating, Colin moved to Los Angeles where he quickly found work in commercials and short films. He also began to develop his craft as a writer and director, creating several of his own short films; and he is currently in the process of writing and developing several projects for TV and film.
